Nameless Landscapes

This series opens onto the subtle fluctuations of sensations that have not yet found words, and presences that rise from the depths of the unconscious—before they take on a definitive form.

What is received through relationships with nature and others, emotions and perceptions arising within oneself, and the “felt sense of being alive” that exists before language.

Before these experiences are reduced to a fixed meaning or a specific motif, they are carried through the body and transferred into paint.

Working with the fluidity of acrylic and physical gestures, the process moves back and forth between painting and looking, movement and stillness. Rather than simply releasing an initial impulse, Hitomi continues a dialogue with the surface, observing what emerges and giving form where necessary.

Nameless Landscapes is an attempt not to impose names upon what has not yet found one, but to remain with that state and capture the moment when sensation begins to emerge as sensation itself.

Within this process, different states—reason and intuition, order and chaos, stillness and intensity—do not oppose one another, but coexist simultaneously.

What remains on the canvas is neither a singular narrative nor an answer, but a trace of perceptual fluctuation that has, for a moment, taken form.

名のない景色

まだ言葉を持たない感覚や、無意識の深みから立ち上がる気配。その輪郭になる前の揺らぎを、そのまま画面へとひらいていくシリーズ。

自然や人との関係の中で受け取ったもの、自らの内側に生じた感情や知覚、言葉になる前の「生の感触」。

それらは、明確な意味や特定のモチーフへと還元される前の状態で、身体を通して絵具へと移されていく。

制作では、アクリルの流動性や身体的なストロークを手がかりに、描くことと見ること、動かすことと留めることを往復する。初期衝動をそのまま放出するだけではなく、画面との対話を重ねながら、そこに生じたものを観察し、必要なところに輪郭を与えていく。

「名のない景色」は、まだ名前を持たないものに無理に名前を与えるのではなく、その状態にとどまりながら、感覚が感覚として立ち上がる瞬間を捉えようとする試みでもある。

そこでは、理性と感性、秩序と混沌、静けさと熱量といった異なる状態が、対立するのではなく同時に存在する。

画面に残されるのは、ひとつの物語や答えではなく、知覚の揺らぎが一時的にかたちを持った痕跡である。
