Hitomi

Born in 1991 in Saitama, Japan. Based in Tokyo.

Hitomi’s practice extends from years of quietly confronting her inner conflicts.

Through the ever-changing landscapes of daily life and the subtle fluctuations of emotion, she observes and records the “awai”—the in-between space that connects herself and the world.

Working primarily with acrylic, her expression seeks harmony and wholeness by allowing opposing forces—reason and sensibility, order and chaos—to coexist within a single surface.

What once began as an intimate dialogue with herself has evolved into a way of capturing the “living moments” that dwell within the rhythms of everyday life and the cycles of nature.

The motifs that appear on the surface trace the laws of nature and fleeting moments of life, depicting the tactile sensation of existence as it drifts between the visible and the invisible, the inner and the outer.

Light and shadow, birth and return, movement and stillness—

within these thresholds, she records each transient moment like a quiet breath.

Creation, for Hitomi, is not an act of healing the past, but a way to reconnect with the feeling of being alive now, to breathe in rhythm with the world.

Painting becomes a medium that bridges the inner and outer worlds—

a continuous inquiry into making visible the invisible pulse of life.
