What I attend to are the sensations and emotions that exist before words, and what emerges from their subtle fluctuations.

Since childhood, I have observed and sought to understand the sensations and emotions arising within me. I have come to see them as something that extends beyond the self, continually changing and emerging through encounters with people and the natural world.

Giving language to what I receive, and resonating with others through it—dialogue itself had long been a form of expression for me.

When face-to-face communication became restricted during the COVID-19 pandemic, this form of expression gradually shifted into painting. Moving between language and paint as distinct media, I began translating onto the canvas perceptions and sensations of existence that words alone could not fully capture.

In my painting process, I begin with loosely conceived compositions and images that arise intuitively, then allow the work to unfold through bodily movement and the flow of sensation. Within the unexpected shifts and deviations that emerge along the way, a realm beyond the reach of conscious awareness begins to take form.

I move between the release of energy through forceful gestures and the quiet adjustments that capture subtle changes. Through this interplay, I approach seemingly opposing states—reason and intuition, order and chaos, light and shadow—not as contradictions, but as states that coexist and resonate with one another.

The flowers that appear in my work do not depict any particular species. They are traces of life’s vibrations taking form for a fleeting moment, where fluctuations of the body, nature, memory, and emotion manifest on the canvas as “flowers as waves of existence.”

Rather than closing into a singular meaning, a painting can quietly resonate with each viewer’s body and memories, allowing new perceptions and sensations to emerge. It is within this open space that I find the possibilities of artistic expression.
